MindGenius is a mind mapping application that allows users to capture and visualise ideas and information. Utilising visually connected information and knowledge makes it easier to take correct decisions, plan how best to proceed, and manage resultant actions and resources through to completion.
Agreement start: 1 November 2023
Agreement end: 31 October 2026
Subsequent invoice date: 3 months in advance of the licence anniversary date
Institutions may participate at any time during the 3-year period; however, they will be bound by the terms and conditions, including payments for 3 years from their enrolment to the supported licence.

This Agreement is open to Institutions of Higher and Further Education, Secondary Schools and Research Councils in the United Kingdom, and to Universities, Colleges of Further Education and Secondary Schools in the Republic of Ireland.
Chest and MindGenius have had a Chest Agreement in place since 2003, with this Agreement taking us through 20 years.

Both the 3-Year Supported Licence and the Perpetual Licence Annual Maintenance have Software Implementation Support Services provided for the full licence term. Without prior arrangement between MindGenius and any Licensed Site there will be no further provision of Software Implementation Support Services at the end of the term.

Sites licensed either under the 3-Year Supported Licence or the Perpetual Licence Annual Maintenance are entitled to major product upgrades during the licence term. Sites licensed under the 3-Year Supported Licence must remove/destroy all of the software from their systems at the end of the term (unless a new licence is taken out).
Licensed institutions will have free access to patches, bug-fixes and updates for as long as they are available via the MindGenius website.

MindGenius will send out download links and licence codes for the Licensed Institution upon receipt of an Order from Chest.
There are two media sets for the latest version of MindGenius - each offer the same software functionality but are suited to different deployment mechanisms. Please note that, under the 3-Year Supported Licence and the Perpetual Licence Annual Maintenance, either media set can be used to deploy to both institutional and personal devices.

There is a bulk user upload feature in MindGenius Online which enables administrators to upload a large number of users to their database. You must first ensure that you have the correct number of licences available to add these users into the database; if you need extra licences you should contact MindGenius. Note that, under your Chest licence, there is no limit to how many MindGenius Online licences you can have allocated.

The Chest Order, together with the Licence Terms and Conditions, and any exceptions listed below, create a legally binding contract between your institution, organisation or company and the Licensor. Therefore please read the terms and conditions carefully and only submit a Chest Order if its terms and conditions are acceptable to your institution, organisation or company and you have the authority to make the financial commitment shown.
This Site licence is subject to the terms and conditions for the Standard Chest Licence for Software (June 2011). Home use is only included with the 3-Year Supported Licence or the Perpetual Licence Annual Maintenance. Please see the additional exceptions listed in the 'Exceptions to the Terms and Conditions' section at the bottom of the page.
Copying of the Software is allowed in accordance with the terms and conditions for the Standard Chest Licence for Software.
Jisc will invoice Licensed Institutions for the initial fee on receipt of a completed order. Sites who have subscribed to the 3-Year Supported Licence will then be invoiced annually 3 months in advance of the anniversary of their licence start date until the end of their Commitment Period.
You are advised that because of the requirement for Jisc to collect monies due before the anniversary date 2 charges may initially fall into 1 academic accounting year.
Chest is an Enterprise of Jisc. All Purchase orders must be made out to Jisc Services Ltd, 4 Portwall Lane, Bristol, BS1 6NB to cover all charges plus VAT.
All terms contained in a PO are expressly rejected and do not form part of the Licence or vary the Licence terms in any way.
Payments are due within 30 days of invoice dates; recipients of late payments are entitled to interest in accordance with UK statutory provisions.
3-Year Supported Licences include major and minor product upgrades, support, and Home Use Rights. 3-Year Supported Licences do not include perpetual use of the software. At the end of the term, if a new licence is not taken out, then all copies of the software must be destroyed/removed from all computers.
Perpetual Licences (no longer available) means a licence is granted in perpetuity. From the date of purchase, 12 months of limited maintenance (minor product upgrades and support) is included.
Perpetual Licence Annual Maintenance (only available to existing subscribers) provides 12 months of full maintenance (major product upgrades and support) and also includes Home Use Rights for the 12-month Maintenance Period.
Note that a Perpetual Licence without Annual Maintenance does not cover MindGenius Online and covers MindGenius (desktop), without home use rights, at the version that was last deployed before Annual Maintenance was cancelled.
The product(s) may be used by any Authorised User of the Licensee for Educational Purposes which includes the administration and management of the licensee’s educational and research operations. These permissions are described in the terms and conditions for the Standard Chest Licence for Software.

Personal licences are not available under this Agreement. Individuals interested in purchasing personal licences should contact MindGenius directly.
Please note, an additional term 2.2(f) is added to term 2 (Licence Grant) of Schedule 4 (Standard Chest Software Licence): “For the purposes of clarification, Licensees should note that virtualisation is permitted, either via a virtual desktop or virtualisation technologies (such as AppsAnywhere) which allow Authorised Users to access the Software from off-campus and from their personal computers. Remote access to installations on campus computers is also permitted.”
