This Agreement is of 3 years duration. Institutions may join the agreement at any time during the agreement period. They may take a single year licence (expiry at next anniversary date) or licence up to three years (Note: this option expires after 1 August 2015) 

Eligible Institutions

Universities, colleges and other learning, educational and research bodies in the UK and Republic of Ireland.

Other organisations aligned with Eduserv’s charitable objectives of supporting education, research bodies and the public sector may ask to participate in the Agreement. Eduserv will liaise with the Supplier about any such requests.

FTE Counts – are based upon HESA Statistics for 2011/12 (the latest available at the time of contracting) Institutions once banded remain in this band for the duration of the agreement irrespective of whether their actual FTE count changes during that time.

Frequency of updates:

  • APA PsycNET - weekly
  • EBSCOHost - daily
  • OVID - Data is loaded on to the Ovid servers according to the frequency of its supply by the APA
  • ProQuest - Data is uploaded every 1-2 weeks to the APA databases. The databases are reloaded annually (unless otherwise) according to APA requirements.

Pricing details are restricted to bone fide users in academic institutions in the UK and Ireland - if you are having trouble accessing the pricing information then please contact Eduserv Help.

Pricing comprises two elements, the Data Fee and the Service Provision Fee. There are different fees for HE and FE;

1. The Data Fee
The data fee is given in US Dollars. Institutions will be invoiced by Eduserv in either pounds (£ UK) with the amount converted at the time when the invoice is raised or by arrangement in US $. Prices exclude VAT.

If you are adding PsycARTICLES to your current PsycINFO subscription then you will receive a further 15% discount on PsycARTICLES and/or PsycBOOKS in the first year of the subscription.

New Subscribers ordering PsycINFO and PsycARTICLES together will be given a further 15% discount off PsycINFO and PsycARTICLES in the first year of the subscription

2. The Service Provision Fee
There is a choice of Service Providers and fees vary.

Fees are given in UK pounds, with the exception of APA whose price is stated in US dollars.

Service Provision Fees are located Service Providers Fees.

Note: Institutions will be invoiced by Eduserv for both the data fees and service provision in UK pounds with the amount converted from dollars at the time that the invoice is raised.  

Payment Terms

On receipt of a completed Order, Institutions will be invoiced for the Agreement year in which the Licence is signed. Please ensure you nominate which currency in which you wish your invoiced to be issued.

In subsequent years, Institutions will be invoiced three months in advance of the anniversary date of the Agreement, on 1 May 2015 and 1 May 2016.

Single year commitments will renew automatically UNLESS cancellation notice has been given before 1 May 2015 or 1 May 2016

There is monthly pro-rata charging for Institutions which become licensed partway through a licence year.

All Purchase Orders must be made out to Eduserv and Eduserv's invoices must be paid within 30 calendar days of the date of the invoice.

Start date: 1 August 2014

End date: 31 July 2017

Institution Commitment Period

This Agreement is of 3 years duration. Institutions may join the agreement at any time during the agreement period. They will then be committed to the end of the Agreement Period unless they have taken a single year commitment AND provided appropriate cancellation notice.

What can authorised users do?

The resources can be used for Educational Purposes:

  • private study
  • academic research
  • administration and management of the Licensee’s educational or research operations

Exclusions

  • The resources may not be used for anything other than Educational Purposes
  • Downloading of large amounts of material by authorised users that might be considered ‘systematic’.  

Termination Clauses

Material downloaded under the agreement before its expiry may continue to be used under the same licence conditions as pertain while the agreement exists.

Institutions retain the rights to material produced during the years to which they subscribed. There will be an access fee payable in the event this option is exercised.

Opt out rights and notice period

Those choosing the single year commitment have the right to opt out of the agreement on 31 July 2015 or 31 July 2016 by giving notice of such cancellation on or before 1 May 2015 or 1 May 2016.
