Project Manager

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, and experience of technologies, designs and architectures used in the delivery of large scale IT infrastructure, web or internet projects. You will have experience of project methodologies such as PRINCE 2 or / and Agile, and be fully adept in the use of project management software such as MS Project along with excellent Microsoft Office skills. Security clearance will also be arranged for the successful candidate.

Core responsibilities include identifying customer requirements and validating the technical solution, remit and deliverables of a project into service, as well as producing project plans to identify tasks, dependencies, milestones and the critical path of the project. You will be expected to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously; report accurately and succinctly, and build effective relationships internally and externally. You will mitigate risks, manage the project budget, and identify issues and scope changes when they arise.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • To own and lead projects from inception through to service delivery.
  • To liaise with the Business Development team and the Client to identify the customers’ requirements and validate the solution, remit, and deliverables of a project into service.
  • To work with the customer and Eduserv personnel to ascertain, analyse, identify and agree the scope and requirements of the project and to document them appropriately.
  • To produce project plans identifying tasks, dependencies, milestones and the critical path of the project, communicate the project plan to the technical team and to ensure that timeline, delivery date and activities are agreed by all parties.
  • To identify and secure the appropriate infrastructure and resource to implement the project as specified through liaison with team leaders.
  • To establish a project team and manage the project for the duration of the project. To direct project activities, motivating and managing resource and ensure that responsibilities for tasks are clearly communicated, actioned and completed in time.
  • To identify issues and mitigate risks to the delivery of the project.
  • To manage the project budget, reporting of deviations from the agreed profile.
  • To identify and scope changes when they arise. This includes the production of impact assessments, gaining of customer approval and re-planning / budgeting as necessary”
  • To review project progress and ensure that project milestones are completed to specified date. To ensure sufficient contingency is in place and to manage problems and issues as they arise.
  • To liaise with the customer throughout the project to ensure that they understand and complete any obligations on them. To report on progress, manage issues and expectations and to handle changes to project as necessary.
  • To produce or manage the production of sufficient documentation and training in order for Service Delivery to accept ownership of the project into production service. To ensure the ease of operation is maximised whilst the cost of operation are kept to a minimum.
  • To liaise with relevant staff to ensure the smooth hand over of projects to service delivery.
  • To conduct periodic post project reviews
